To all SCC Members:  Please join us for an evening of photographing one of the most beautiful vistas that we are fortunate to have accessible to us here in the Tri-State area, the NYC Skyline.

There are several locations in and around the New Jersey waterfront area that provide exceptional opportunities to capture the lights and action of this Metropolis.

Please be sure to bring a tripod and to dress warmly (hats, gloves, scarves, blankets, etc.) as Thanksgiving weekend will probably be a bit chilly.  Please also bring extra batteries for your camera if you have them (cold weather has a tendency to drain camera batteries rather quickly) .  Sometimes the chilly night airs makes for a more clear and crisp night photograph of the city view.

We'll meet up and leave the Rockaway Mall parking lot on the back side of Macy's facing Michael's and the Christimas Tree Shoppe at 3:00 p.m.  Car pooling with fellow members is encouraged as there is usually limited parking in the NJ waterfront area on a weekend night.

A 3:00 p.m. departure should give us enough time to arrive in Hoboken in enough time to capture some last light shots of the view before sunset at 4:30 p.m.  We'll then have an itinerary we can use to move about the area getting twilight shots and later shots when the skies get their darkest.  We may even be able to get in a little street photography in Hoboken or Weehawken.

So whoever will be around and up for the trip after Thanksgiving Turkey and Black Friday Shopping, please sign up, it should be an awesome outing!!

Weather forecast for our area for Saturday evening:

0% chance of precipitation and mostly sunny with a high of 35 and a low of 28 forecasted.  Please dress warm and remember ats, gloves, scarves, etc.  You may also want to bring a folding chair and blanket.

Please bring sure to bring a tripod, extra batteries and/or full charged batteries.  The cold weather can drain camera batteries quicker than normal and the tripod is essential for capturing night shots or low light, long exposure shots.
