SCC Field Trip:  Sandy Hook and the Historic Twin Lighthouses

***SCC field trips are open to paid SCC members ONLY.  Please consider joining the club if you are interested in going on outings with the club.  Thank you.

 

Time:  9:00 a.m.

Meeting location:

   Sparta Municipal Building

   65 Main Street

   Sparta, NJ 07871

 

***Note:  Please plan to bring a lunch as there are probably no food stands open yet on Sandy Hook.

 

Please meet us at the municipal building park & ride (near the front of the lot) so that we can make ride-sharing arrangements and leave from there for the day.  This trip will be an all day event.

 

Admission to Sandy Hook is free until Memorial Day Weekend.  Admission to the Historic Twin Lighthouses is free but they request a donation to help maintain the premises.  Please consider making a donation.

 

While at Sandy Hook, here is what you can expect to see/photograph:

Birds -- Most likely nesting Osprey-- Warblers
Nature photography-- Interesting plant life -- cactus
Fort Hancock -- Abandon Buildings
Beach/Ocean photography
Lighthouse
