Color management is defined as the process in digital imaging systems of controlling the conversion between the color presentations of various devices, such as image scanners, digital cameras, monitors, TV screens, film printers, computer printers, offset presses, and corresponding media. (source:  Wikipedia)

Essentially, it is getting a good color match across all the different devices or surfaces that the image will be presented on.

It is a very complex element in the photographic process due to all of the variables involved.  And one of the processes that photographers struggle with the most.  Whether it's a projection not matching what is on the computer screen, or ordering a print from a printing service and it does not color match the sample print you tested on your home/business printer, or you order the print on 2 different mediums (i.e. canvas and paper), there are specific proactive steps and precautions one must take to ensure that your image looks the same across all mediums.

We'll be going over the basics of color management processing and systems such as color profiles and where to get the profiles for different services or printers, calibrating your monitor, and what effects different devices and mediums have on your images and some workarounds you may find helpful.  We'll also cover some of alternative methods of presenting your images.

Bring your questions - this will be an interactive presentation!!
