Please come out and join us for the second meeting of the new Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Users Group! Meetings will be held on the 1st Monday of each month.
Whether you use Photoshop Elements, Photoshop, or a combination of both or if you are new to the world of image editing and are looking to find out a little more about your software options, you can come and share your tips and tricks and knowledge or investigate these products to see if one of them fits your needs.
We promise to share our knowledge of a different PS Elements or PS topic each month.
This month's topic will be Layers and Masks.
Layers are used in Photoshop Elements and Photoshop to make editing your image "non-destructive". In other words, when you import an image from your camera to one of these image editing programs, that image becomes your "background" image or original image. By adding layers to that image, you can make changes to the image without affecting the original image you imported.
Masks in image editing software are a way of protecting specific areas of your image (like using masking tape when painting). The idea is to "paint" a grayscale mask over the areas of an image where you do not wish to apply changes. It is a useful tool for working on selective areas of an image and for compositing various images by adjusting the transparency of the composited images.
Please register here through this event page so we know how many people will be attending and also please be prepared to pay a nominal fee which helps us to cover the cost of the room for the evening. Thank you!
