Composition in Photography – David DesRochers Sparta Camera Club Sparta Ambulance Building 14 Sparta Ave. Sparta NJ info@spartacameraclub.org
Photography is an art form and the elements of composition are like the paints on an artist’s palette. Understanding these elements and knowing how to apply them effectively can be the difference between taking a snap shot and creating a work of art. In addition to discussing the basic “rules of composition,” David will guide you through the process of blending compositional elements, such as light, color, and texture and you will have a better understanding of what it takes to create a compelling photograph. David DesRoches is an award winning nature photographer. He has devoted the past 15 years traveling the globe, photographing the wonders of our natural world. He is an accomplished public speaker, instructor, and writer and is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association. David volunteers his time teaching photography classes for The New Jersey Audubon Society and managing the Cranford Environmental Commission award winning web site. He is the 2014 recipient of the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs Citation in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of the art and science of photography in the State of New Jersey. His work is represented by the stock agency Animals Animals / Earth Scenes and his photographs and articles have appeared in several books and magazines. www.desrochersphotography.com
