SCC EXPO XLI (2026) Photo Print Exhibition:

Sparta Camera Club will host its Annual Photography EXPO XLI on Saturday and Sunday, November 14 and 15, at the Sparta Ambulance building. Last year's EXPO displayed 278 works of art. Come enjoy this year's exhibit and congratulate our winners. Those who entered photographs also will have the opportunity to have their work critiqued. This event is open to the public.

Saturday, November 14:

12 PM to 7 PM: The exhibit of all the prints is open to the public.

4 PM to 7 PM: Artist's Reception and Awards. Food and drink will be served. Awards for Best Beginner, Best Student and Best in Show will be given out at this time.

Sunday, November 15:

12 PM to 5 PM: Exhibit of all the prints open to the public.

Don Toothaker: Understanding Black & White Photography (Virtual Only) (Wednesday, November 18, 2026)

Sparta Camera club will host a virtual meeting on Understanding Black and White photography by Don Toothaker on Wednesday, November 18th, via Webex.

"Photograph What You Feel" is a mantra which has become the foundation of everything Don does as a photographer and as a photography instructor. Primarily self-taught, he photographs any subject that appeals to his many curiosities and passionately encourages others to pursue their individual interests without restraint.

Don is the Director of Photo Adventures for Hunts Photo and Video in

Massachusetts, since 2017, conducting numerous instructional photo walks in

the greater Boston and New England areas while also designing,

implementing, and leading instructional photography workshops locally,

nationally, and internationally.

His presentation, Understanding Black and White Photography, is based on

his belief that without color to distract, every decision relating to exposure,

light, shadow, form and composition must be purposeful. Improving your

photography begins in monochrome.
