    The club is hosting an open virtual competition at the October 28th meeting.  Members are invited to submit 3 images on the topic of their choice.  The competition is being judged by Paul Michael Kane. 


    The photos are entered via PhotoContestPro


    Sparta Camera Club members may submit  up to 3 photos for this competition.  Photos are  submitted on http://www.photocontestpro.com/  Photo Contest Pro. 


    Tips for Placing Images on Photo Contest Pro

    Digital Images

      

    1. Image files should  be converted to sRGB color space.
    2. Images must be JPEG’s.
    3. Images size must be 1050 pixels along the longest edge. .
    4. The photographer’s name, trademark and/or copyright may not appear on an image
    5. Photos entered into the contest may be used by the club on the club webpage

    NAn Introduction to Street Photography: from Beginner to Advanced Topics

    This session will cover a wide range of street photography topics, beginning with an introduction to the genre and progressing through intermediate and advanced topics. We will cover everything from how to setup and use your camera, to tips and tricks to make street photography easier and more comfortable, to street photography in quiet and suburban areas, and to overall conceptual issues in street photography, such as telling a story and  creating a portfolio or project.


    Non members can register at info@spartacameraclub.org.  Provide your name and email adress by November 10 to get an invitation to this online meeting.  


    Bio:


    James has lived in New York for his entire life. Like many Manhattanites, he is a terrible driver and cook, but he’s an excellent navigator. He has been practicing the art of street photography since he first picked up a camera, has worked as a portrait, studio, and documentary photographer in New York since 2005, is a certified New York photography tour and workshop guide, and is the author of The New York Photographer’s Travel Guide and The Essentials of Street Photography.  James Maher web page is located at :

     Botanical Competition

    The New Nature Photography:  Lisa Langell

    Lisa Langell has a different view of nature photography.  The talk  focuses on the difference between classic nature photography and nature photography that addresses nature photography as a decorative element.  Lisa will explain how to produce unique photos that buyers want to hang in their homes.  The talk will address artistic decorative trends. 


    Lisa Langell is a full-time, award-winning photographer whose work has appeared in numerous prestigious publications, galleries and more.  Most recently, she was published on the front cover and wrote a feature article in Outdoor Photographer magazine.  She currently sits on the Board of Directors for the North American Nature Photography Association. She is also an ambassador for Tamron and FotoPro. Lisa’s work is located on her web page, https://www.langellphotography.com/


    Members will receive an automatic invitation to this meeting.  Non-members need to email us using meet-up  for an invitation to attend this meeting.  Visitors are allowed to attend one meeting for free before being required to join.
