SCC Regular Club Meeting: Critique "Patriotic"

  • Wednesday, April 23, 2014
  • 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Sparta Ambulance Building, 14 Sparta Avenue, Sparta, NJ
DATE CHANGE:  This event was originally scheduled from April 9 but has been postponed until April 23rd.  Please submit images by midnight Saturday, April 19.

The definition of "Patriotic" from Merriam-Webster's dictionary is "having or showing great love and support for your country : having or showing patriotism"

We are not going to limit the definition of "your country" to only the United States.  We have members who were not originally citizens of the United States and they are welcome to submit images from their country of origin if they so choose.

In fact, patriotism can be patriotic feelings toward any cause that the photographer believes in and has loyalty toward (as shown in the second part of the definition).  However, we do ask that all photographers take into account that we are a family-oriented objective club with no allegiances to any cause or organization and ask that you plan your submissions accordingly.

Members are encouraged to send or bring in 2 prints and/or digital images that will best represent patriotism.

During the meeting, the critique will be led by club officers, but regular club members will be called upon to offer up their own comments as learning how to critique well is a step forward in taking better photographs.

Please email your images to info@spartacameraclub.org no later than Saturday, April 19, 2014 at midnight. *Please put "Patriotic" in the subject line without the quotes.  There are no class designations for critiques.

If you wish to enter prints in the competition, please bring them to the meeting on the night of the competition.
