ESSEX COUNTY CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL Field Trip

Do you know where the largest display of Cherry Blossoms is in the United States each year? You probably believe it's Washington DC but it is right here in our beloved state of New Jersey at Newark's Branch Brook Park! There are 4300 trees! Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. initiated a multi-phase program in 2007 to plant 4,000 new cherry trees throughout the Park by 2010. 

"Bloomfest" is a multi-cultural festival filled with family-friendly activities and demonstrations throughout the day. So let's take a trip and get some great Cherry Blossom photos, as well as, some potentially good street photography photos of the activities taking place in the park that day!

Bloomfest is on Sunday, April 14th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
We will meet up at the Sparta Municipal Building Park & Ride lot at 9:00 a.m. that morning and can arrange ride sharing amongst members who are attending or you are welcome to meet us at the park. The event itself is free and there is no cost for admission to the park. Directions and parking information when we get to the park will be provided that morning. Even though the cost is free, please sign up through the event page on the spartacameraclub.org site, so that we know who is planning to attend.
